                       Engines and gearboxes

Skoda kushaq comes with 2 engines and 3 transmission options.
(1) A new engine specifically designed for india. It is a 1.0 litre 3 cylinder turbo charged TSI petrol engine producing 115 PS of power @ 5000 rpm and 175 NM of torque @ 1750 rpm to 4500 rpm mated with a 6 speed manual transmission and 6 speed torque converter type automatic transmission.

(2) The same engine from the VW T-Roc. It is a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder turbo charged TSI petrol engine producing 150 PS of power @ 5000 rpm and 250 NM of torque @ 1600 rpm to 3500 rpm mated with a 6 speed manual ( not conformed ) and a 7 speed DSG type automatic transmission.

Performance- Talking about the 1.0 litre TSI engine, ya the first impressions are good, now of course this engine is better in terms of performance from both of it's Korean rivals like Creta and Seltos. The best thing is the engine is quiet responsive from lower rpm's, turbo lag is beautifully kept out of the way. It is quiet strong and easy to drive weather you are ambling around the city the engine has power to serve you when you need it but after you touch 1750 rpm the engines enters into a different league the throttle response becomes absolutely spot on and it becomes very fun to drive indeed. Part throttle responses are also good and the engine performs good at higher rpm too. The manual gearbox is quite smooth ans slick shifting with not too long throws and the automatic is the same unit from the polo and vento TSI. Well the gearbox is nice and shifts are smooth and fast and lastly NVH are also under control and engine sounds little sporty.
If we talk about the 1.5 litre TSI engine, it's a really fantastic its quiet comparable to the Creta and Seltos GDI engines, talking specifically about this Kushaq's engine, it performes very good from even lower rpm's, that's pretty nice but as you touch 1600 rpm and the turbo kicks in things are even better and the car puts really an massive smile on your face and pulls strongly. part throttle responses are awsome, at high rpm also you have good punch. The gearbox unit here is smooth and litrelly very fast indeed. NVH levels are also in check and enhine sound is sporty too.
We cannot say about the mileage of either any of the engine or transmission.

                   Driving dynamics

Suspension- The ride quality of the car is not a problem at all specially at higher speeds it absorbs the bumps quiet impressively.

Stability- Ya the high speed stability is pretty nice, it is well composed at expansion joints. You can easily do tripple digits speed without much hustle or loosing confidence. Even while cornering hard it's all good.

Steering- The steering is very nice and gives good feedback and in terms of steering response it's very sharp and at lower speeds it's light and easy to use and at higher speeds it weighs pretty nicely too.

Visibility- Visibility all around is very good the side mirrors and IRVM is decently sized and gives you a good view around.

                                    Negatives

(1) No diesel engine on offer.

Negatives are based only on driving.
